We remember that through Baptism and Confirmation we belong to Christ, are identified with him and are gifted constantly by his Spirit in community and in our church. We receive the Eucharist to deepen our lifelong initiation into Christ’s life, death, and Resurrection. When we meet this month, we will focus specifically on how receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will initiate you as full members of the Church.

This month, Candidates will learn about the mystery of the Holy Trinity.  God is Love. It is not just something God does. God IS love. This is the basis for our understanding of the trinity. In this love, we see a lover, the beloved and the love that they share. We believe and profess that there is one God. There are three distinct persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are all the same God.

This month, Candidates will explore death, dying, Heaven, Hell, and purgatory as it pertains to our Catholic faith and teaching. . We will explore the teaching of church and Christ's desire for us to bring Heaven here to earth everyday of our lives so that we may one day join our Lord in Heaven.

Saints strived every day to bring heaven to earth. They failed a lot but continued to try no matter what. Research a Saint that you can identify with. Pick a saint to represent you for the rest of your life. This Saint name will be chosen for the day of your confirmation so that you can look at this Saints life to inspire you to live out yours!

This month, Candidates will explore morality as it pertains to our Catholic faith and teaching. We will read about prudence, virtue, and moral decision-making. We will recognize that we each have a conscience and must actively form it as we use it to guide our decisions. It is through the love and Grace of God, coupled with our own pursuit of knowledge of right and wrong and good and evil, that we can achieve this. Candidates are encouraged to commit themselves to learning why the guidelines and moral teachings of our Church exist.

This month, Candidates will explore the two Sacraments of Service. Teens will discover that a vocation is different from a job or a career; it is a specific and unique call from God that is to be lived out. Together, we will look at two very distinct vocations that are Sacraments of the Church. Through these vocations, we are called to live our lives, united in Christ, for others. We are called to service through love in the Sacraments of Matrimony and Holy Orders.

This month, Candidates will explore the two Sacraments of Healing. We are called to reconcile ourselves to Christ. We are called to be healed and made whole. It is through the mercy and Grace of God that we can achieve this.

This month, Candidates will learn about Mary, the mother of God. As we learn about Mary, we recognize her “Yes” to God’s will and plan for her life and how she allowed the Holy Spirit to guide her. We reflect on our own “Yes” to God and examine how willing we are to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in our lives.
